Photography Class

Today I met with Kaitlyn Whitman from The Photo Love (http://thephotolove.com/) and two other girls to learn some more about the passion we all share! Kaitlyn taught us about manual settings, reflectors and flash and how to pose your models or clients and how to find good spots for your shoot. It was so very helpful and interesting! We were our own models today and had so much fun!

Update on Baby Andy

The youngest of the four I take care of is Andy... 5 months old, curious about the world and ready to rock'n'roll if he just could already! :) So we're working on sitting, scooting on our belly and grabbing ahold of everything in between. It's fantastic to watch an infant grow and be allowed to be part of the process.

Here are a few shots I took today. I am certain that you will see a lot more of those boys in the months to come!

Disregard my failed attempt at creating a backdrop with the blanket . I loved it enough to add it anyways, drool and all :)

Birthday present

A few weeks ago, my family snickered at me, while I, as usual, was crouching, bending, kneeling to get some good shots of something or someone. At that particular moment I was taking pictures of a family member's house number in various angles. I liked it. It had something, but of course, noone believed that. When they actually saw the finished photograph, they loved it and asked for a print for their birthday. Go figure!! I was so excited!! I visited again a couple of weeks later and took some more pictures. I am pretty excited about the results and had the pictures matted and framed.

Aren't they just so sweet!! I asked them to be natural and they started smooching. Adorable!

Snapshots of last weekend

Here are my two adorable, lovable mutts Zeke and Zoe, and finally some impressions from the Family Cabin at Beaver Lake here in NWA. Good times. I can't wait to go back out there, and practice practice practice.

The beautiful south

Earlier this year I was able to vacation in beautiful South Carolina, Georgia and Louisiana. So many great opportunities to practice taking beautiful shots! I was amazed at how stunning the south is. Here is just a peek at my adventures!

Baby Ethan -- May 2010

A couple of months after my maternity shoot with Elizabeth, I was back in her kitchen to take pictures of her new baby boy Ethan and his brothers Landyn and Layne. What a joy it was to finally get to meet him!

The Nix boys

In my main profession as a nanny, I take care of four incredibly bright, smart and lovable little boys. The boys are all fantastic little models and I love taking pictures of them, whenever I get a chance!

Elizabeth's fabulous belly -- March 2010

My beautiful friend Elizabeth allowed me the great pleasure to photograph her fantastic baby belly. It was my first shoot with my beloved Nikon D3000 and we shot all of the following pictures in Elizabeth's kitchen! Oh what a black sheet, kitchen lights and a window can do!

First Blog

So here it is, my first photography blog! I am still working on the layout and ways of things, so bear with me until it is all shiny and nice! You can see a sneak peek of my photography on my main page, of course, and as time comes I will add more and more. I am very excited to share my passion for photography with the world!

Hope to hear from you all soon,
Julia
